Martirosyan got into poker quite young. Speaking with the World Poker Tour (WPT) on their YouTube channel, the Russian shared how his father taught him how to play poker when he was around 17. He added how he originally played the world’s most popular card game with his father and his friends.

After developing a liking for the game, Martirosyan started to study poker strategy to understand the game better. He got really good at it and began to deliver live tournament scores across major events in Europe by the age of 21. Given his growth in card games, he became a professional poker player at a very young age and didn’t even begin his career in any other field.
Artur Martirosyan is a hugely well-respected, high-stakes poker tournament player. He has been crowned as the GGPoker Super MILLION$ champion five times, with the poker player cashing in $8.4 Million on GGPoker in 2021 alone.
Earlier, he also won the WPT World Online Championships Player of the Championship leaderboard. Martirosyan also won his first WSOP bracelet during the 2023 WSOP online. He also shipped the $800 Flip & Go at WSOP Paradise later that year to earn $110,591 and his second bracelet.
The two-time WSOP bracelet winner emerged victorious in the second PokerGO Tour Last Chance series event and finished in first place on the PGT Last Chance Leaderboard to kick-start 2024 with a bang.
Martirosyan was one of the hottest players in 2023 on the live circuit. He had recorded 16 final-table finishes and pocketed over $8.3 Million in POY earnings for the year. To add further, he also started off 2024 by winning two titles at the PGT Last Chance Series.
