Artur Martirosyan Made 2 Killer Overbets Leaving Alex Foxen Befuddled

The Event 5 at PokerGo Tour (PGT) Last Chance Series saw one of the most insane hands between a few of the biggest poker stars. It consisted of Artur Martirosyan, Alex Foxen, Stephen Chidwick and Sam Soverel participating in the hand.

Martirosyan was placed in the small blind position with the blinds sitting at 30K/60K with a 60K big blind ante. He held Ac Jh while Foxen held Tc 9h. The latter raised to 135K, which received a call from Martirosyan as Chidwick folded, leading to both players waiting for the flop.

The flop pops out as Jc 9d 6c handed Martirosyan a Jack-pair while Foxen hit a pair of 9s. Martirosyan decided to check and Foxen followed the same path, as 2h popped on the turn

The pot was already valued at 390,000 and saw Martirosyan bet 600K. He got a call from Foxen as the 4d popped up on the river which meant the Russian won the hand against Foxen. Quite confident of the win, Martirosyan placed a massive 2 Million bet after the river card, which puzzled Foxen.

After thinking it over, Foxen decided to make the call and show his cards! Soon after, he realized the mistake and lost almost his entire stack to Martirosyan, who chipped up with 2.86 Million after winning the hand with the Jack-pair.

Despite starting the hand with the highest chip stack at 3,075,000, Foxen fell to as low as 340,000 while Martirosyan went from 2,870,000 to 5,725,000 in just one hand. Subsequently, Foxen busted and exited the table with a 4th place finish.

Martirosyan’s overbet on the turn and river against Foxen got him the max value in event 5 of the PGT Last Chance Series. You can check out the entire hand below:
