Armaan Kochhar leads 48 in WPT India 100k High Roller

While everyone had their eyes on the WPT India Main Event, the 100k High Roller also began side-by-side last night on board the Deltin Royale poker room in Goa. 10 levels of play took place last night and 97 entries were recorded on the day, with the prize pool currently just below the 1 Crore mark.

Late registration is on till the start of Level 13 today on Day 2 and we’re expecting plenty more to enter the tournament. Last night, 48 players bagged their chips and they will resume today with Armaan Kochhar in the lead, taking forward a stack of 165,500; Pavan Garapati is very close to him at 165,300 chips. Rounding up the top 3 is Sanjay Sharma who bagged 160,000 chips.

Last year, it was Kalyan Chakravarthy who won the WPT India High Roller, beating Minissha Lamba in heads-up. This year, Chakravarthy couldn’t make it to Goa for this series due to personal issues but Minissha is still in the running, progressing with a stack of 70,100 chips.

A number of more known names were seen at the tables including Pranav Bagai, Meherzad Munsaf, 25k Bounty Event winner Sriharsha D, Sumit Sapra, Ankit Kapoor, Vivek Rughani, Adda52 Pros Kunal Patni and Nikita Luther, Abhishek Goindi, Raman Gujral, Gaurav Sood, Abhishek Rathod, IPC High Roller champion Pranay Chawla and may others.
