APT Taipei 2023 Super High Roller: Abhinav Iyer Among 23 Survivors Heading Into Day 2

Finally, it was time when we drew curtains on the action filled Day 1 of the APT Taipei 2023 Super High Roller. The event saw some records being broken in terms of the number of entries. The Super High Roller tournament had 117 entries in total with the prize pool being 15,888,600 (~$516,300). The top prize that awaits the winner of this marquee event is a whopping TWD 3,997,400 (~$129,900). The much-awaited Super High Roller which kicked-off at 12:30 PM (local time) at the Asia Poker Arena saw some popular names from the Asian circuit participate.

Natural8 Ambassadors Kitty Kuo and Wongwichit Phachara made their presence felt in the event. But neither of the players could find a bag for Day 2 of the Super High Roller tournament. The competition will only get more intense as the game inches closer to the final table. It would be interesting to see if an Indian player manages to grab this coveted title and trophy. With Iyer and Ahuja in the running, all hopes will be on these two to see if they can bring home an APT Taipei 2023 Super High Roller title.

Talking about the tourney, the top 17 places will be paid with the min-cash being TWD 249,500 (~$8,100). Day 2 of the APT Taipei 2023 Super High Roller will resume at 12:15 PM local time (9:45 AM IST). The chip lead heading into Day 2 is Wing Po Liu from Hong Kong. He sits with a stack of 2,815,000. Coming in second is a player from Ireland called Fung Sam Lam (2,770,000 chips).

Talking about Iyer’s recent live poker adventure, the pro finished fifth in the WPT Prime India 2023 Main Event. Iyer took home a pay cheque of $29,323 (approx. ₹23,97,023). The WSOP bracelet winner impressed everyone with his stellar performance and we are hopeful that he can turn the tables in his favour to grab the APT Taipei 2023 Super High Roller trophy.
