APT Taipei 2023 Kickoff: Nishant Sharma Finishes 6th For Over 6 Lakh

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei 2023 began amid high energy and enthusiasm on 28th April 2023 at the Asia Poker. Some of the top pros from the Asian poker circuit are seen grinding in this series. Indian pros like Zarvan Tumboli, Abhinav Iyer, Ankit Ahuja, Kartik Ved, Deepak Bothra, and Jasven Saigal have marked their attendance in this much awaited live poker series. APT Taipei 2023 began with the Kickoff event which offers a guarantee of TWD 2,000,000 with a buy-in of TWD 10,000. 

Our Indian pro and Gamezy Poker pro Nishant Sharma finished in the 6th position for a prize money worth TWD 245,000 (₹6,51,102). Sharma shared this delightful news on his Instagram Stories. When the final table of the Kickoff began, Sharma sat with the second highest chip stack of 1,365,000. The Spartan Poker pro, Tumboli also shared many updates throughout his journey in the Kickoff tournament.

Sharma and Tumboli were not the only Indian pros grinding in this event. Jasven Saigal and J Raju were also playing in the APT Taipei 2023 Kickoff. Sharma, Tumboli, and Raju qualified for Day 2 via flight Day 1B. Heading into Day 2 of the Kickoff, Sharma had the fourth highest stack of 438,000.

Zarvan Tumboli

The winner of this tourney was Chia Yun Wu from Taiwan. The title winner took home a pay cheque of TWD 1,254,100 (₹33,32,764). The runner-up was Yan Chen Jiang from Taiwan. The second place finisher had a payday of TWD 764,100. The top 50 places were paid in this event. The APT Taipei 2023 Kickoff event had a total of 751 entries and a final prize pool worth TWD $6,556,300 ($213,161).
