The APT Philippines II hosted another big day of the Championship Event at Resorts World Manila’s new Grand Wing. The second featured tournament once again enticed abundant poker players from Asia-Pacific.
The Championships Event has a PHP 10 million GTD prize pool while the winner will also be awarded APT Championships Trophy and the APT Champion Ring. Day 1B of the highlight tournament attracted another 141 entries with a buy-in of PHP 82,500 (~INR 1.12 Lakhs). Day 1B wrapped with 84 survivors, who will merge with the 43 remaining players from Day 1A.
The event saw Korea’s Seongsu Kong, chip leader of the day bagging 226,900 chips. Kong’s total live earnings are currently at $146k+ and he looks set to increase it here. He was also recorded as the winner of APPT Manila, PHP 10,000 Short Deck recently.
APT Philippines already observed a few familiar faces. Indian contenders marking their presence throughout the series, including Akshay Nasa along with Jaideep Sajwan who was also among the players to progress to Day 2 of the Championships Event. Nasa bagged 35,6000 chips (111th) and Sajwan bagged 21,600 chips (123rd).
Signing in the event include other notable players, Gyeong Byeong Lee (181,700), Cao Ngoc Anh (162,500), Alexis Lim (123,200), Joven Huerto (85,900), Siyoung Lee (84,100), Kannapong Thanarattrakul (81,800), and Iori Yogo (44,600).
