APT Philippines 2022: Jasven Saigal Ships The NLH Event

The Asian Poker Tour Philippines (APT) 2022 has been going on in full steam at the Newport World Resort in the Philippines. Several Indian contingents are seen grinding at this series and Indian pro player Jasven Saigal has clinched his first-ever APT title by shipping Event 10: No Limit Hold’em after beating Wai Chin Cheng in the heads-up. Saigal has pocketed Php 5,32,200 (₹7,41,355) for his victory.

Jasven Saigal winning hand:

It was a short-lived heads-up between the final two, where Saigal held a massive chip lead right from the start. In the final hand, Saigal called the 10K/20K blinds, and Cheng checked from the big blind. The rainbow board fanned out 5 ❤ 3 ♠ 2 ♣. Checking checked, and Saigal shoved all-in with his stack of 890K. Cheng, who had just 140K chips, had to make an all-in call to stay in hand and he did that. 

Saigal showed J ♣ 5 ♦ , while Cheng showed J ❤ 3 ♦ . Saigal held the lead, and the turn and river of Q ❤ and A ♦ brought no help to Cheng. Saigal got his winning higher two pair hand to ship the event. Cheng pockted Php 3,54,800 for his runner-up finish. 

This marks Saigals’ second victory in a month. Last month he shipped his first ever World Poker Tour (WPT) title by nailing the WPT Prime Cambodia Event #23 $270 + 30 No Limit Hold’em – Superstack 6-Max Finale for $6,255. Now he has claimed his first ever APT title at this NLH event.
