After the heads-up play began, Ngo Khoa Anh kept his lead only till he lost a good chunk of it to Nguyen Hoang Long. In the current hand, Nguyen Hoang Long raised to 500,000 and Anh shoved. Long matched and was looking to end the game. Anh played with K♦ 3♥ and Long had Q♠ J♣. The board read T♥ J♠ 9♦ T♦ J♦. Long hit a full house (JJJ, TT) and Anh had to settle for the runner-up position for a payday of VND 1,770,970,000 (~$74,760).

Matthew Bevin Takes The 3rd Place

In hand 73, Nguyen Hoang Long opened with 350,000 while Matthew Bevin shoved for a little over 1,000,000. Long matched and the board ran out as 6♥ 9♥ T♦ K♥ J♣. Long’s A♥ 5♥ were against Bevin K♦ 9♦.
The board favoured Long as he hit a flush and it was time for the Australian player to wrap up at the 3rd spot for VND 1,180,650,000 (~$49,840).

In hand 57, Ngo Khao Anh jammed from the small blind while Tran Trung Hieu called off with his remaining chips (530,000). Anh played with pocket queens while Hieu had T♣ 3♦. The dealer fanned out a board of K♦ 4♠ 2♣ 5♦ Q♠. This gave Anh a set with his queens and Hieu had to get up and leave in the 4th spot for VND 967,000,000 (~$40,820).

Shung Er Sua Finishes 5th

In hand 55, from the button position, Matthew Bevin raised to 240,000. From the small blind, Shung Er Sua shoved for 1,200,000. Bevin called in no time putting Sua at risk. Sua played with K♣ J♣ while Bevin had Q♠ Q♦. The Malaysian couldn’t survive the board of 2♠ 2♣ 3♥ A♣ 6♦. Bevin sailed ahead and Sua busted in the 5th position for VND 775,850,000 (~$32,750).

Xiaosheng Zheng Takes The 6th Spot

Xiaosheng Zheng finished in the 6th place for a payday of VND 601,570,000 (~$25,400). Xiaosheng Zheng went all-in for 605,000. Nguyen Hoang Long from the big blind made the call. Zheng had A♥ K♠ while Long played with 9♥ 9♦. The board fell as 2♣ 8♦ 7♣ 9♣ 6♥ which gave Hoang a three of a kind with his nines and Zheng was eliminated in the 6th position.

The final day of the APT Da Nang Summer Series July 2023 High Roller is here. Takao Shimizu was leading the pack of survivors progressing into the final day. 25 players will be grinding in the VND 80,000,000 High Roller – 8 Max event on the final day.

This High Roller event recorded 161 total entries (91 unique). This tourney created the second largest prize pool at the APT Summer Series Da Nang (VND 11,244,240,000). The top place finisher will get a pay cheque of VND 2,614,280,000 (~$110,360).
