APPT Cambodia 2022: Akshay Kapoor Finishes 4th In Event #2


Indian pros like Akshay Kapoor and Zarvan Tumboli are in Phnom Penh for PokerStars’ Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cambodia 2022. When it comes to Event #2 $800 NLH – Freezeout, Kapoor finished fourth for $1,508. Spartan Poker pro Tumboli was also grinding in the event but couldn’t grab a piece of the $12,564 prize pool. This event saw 18 participants aiming for the title and top prize. The winner of the Freezeout event was Victor Fook Kiong Chong for $5,276 and Kristian Wiermyhr turned runner-up for a payday of $3,518.

 

Another Indian origin player, Dhanesh Chainani was also grinding in Event 2. This player was among the survivors who were grinding on Day 2 of the $800 NLH – Freezeout tourney. He entered Day 2 by qualifying via flight Day 1A.

Talking about the APPT Cambodia 2022, Benjamin Sai won Event #3: $500 NLH Turbo. Mai Bien won the Kickoff tourney for $15,709 and this title happens to be his first-ever PokerStars Live victory. Indian origin player Dhanesh Chainani came fourth and took a pay cheque of $5,881. The Singapore-based player’s A9s fell apart when they hit Mike Takayama’s Cowboys who ended up as runner-up for $9,695.

Mystery Bounty Event

This tourney had 89 entries (65 unique) and the prize pool generated stood at $42,733 along with $14,240 in bounties for players. The top 10 chip counts have Vietnam’s Hoa Thinh Nguyen at the number one position. The top 15 survivors are guaranteed a payday of at least $484. But the one clinching the top spot will grab a pay cheque of $7,337. Take a look at the top 10 stacks of the Mystery Bounty tournament.

Other notable wins from the APPT Cambodia 2022 came in the form of China’s Wei Jiang who won the $500 PLO Knockout, and South Korea’s Jeungu Seo nailed the $200 NLH Hyper Turbo event.
