APL Trophy #6: Manila Metro Million – ‘iskvad’ Clinches Top Spot


Asia Poker League (APL) Online Series on GGPoker kick-started amid tremendous excitement on June 11th, 2021. The 16-day long series will continue till June 27th, 2021. The series features a massive prize pool of CN¥ 10 million ($15,62,817).

APL Trophy #6: Manila Metro Million event held on June 15th, 2021 was indeed a blockbuster. The event witnessed the best poker pros battling it out to win the title. The online felts of this prestigious event attracted 3,182 entries with a buy-in of PHP 1,100. The initial guarantee of PHP 30,00,000 was surpassed and the final prize pool of the tournament stood at PHP 32,20,184. The top 503 places made it in the money, while 203 players qualified from the satellites. 

The 3,182 entries boiled down to nine players on the final table, who put their best foot forward to claim the tournament title. Finally, ‘iskvad’ topped the table to win a whopping prize money of PHP 3,76,622.13. ‘Raisinghabit’ finished at the runner-up position after locking horns with ‘iskvad’ and took home PHP 2,82,424. The third spot was claimed by ‘UlanUdenec’ who had a pay day of PHP 2,11,788.

MattMa33’ took the fourth spot for PHP 1,58,819. The next to leave the table was ‘Luka7777’, who walked away with a pay cheque of PHP 1,19,097. ‘Sunshine2815,’ who secured the sixth spot for PHP 89,310, decided to sell 75% of the prize share with a mark-up of 1.16, to three buyers on the client. ‘Sunshine2815’ wasn’t the only one to do so. 90 other players also sold their shares to other sellers on the client.

Pog_jung’ managed to walk away with PHP 50,223 in prize money at the eight spot followed by ‘MikeJagerrrr’ who cashed PHP 66,973 at the seventh position. The first to leave the final table was ‘LeslieMcKing’ who secured the ninth spot adding PHP 37,661.75 to his bankroll.

Zjbzj,’ who finished 17th, had qualified from a PHP 55 satellite. However, with some exceptional poker skills the player managed to add PHP 13,985 to his bankroll. Additionally, the game also witnessed two players reaping the benefits of in-client bubble protection as they registered before the tournament started.
