While a storm of bust-outs takes over the IPC felts, a double-up is definitely a much-needed oasis in the middle of it all. So, you can imagine Anand Thakur‘s happiness when his A ♣ 9 ♣ held up against Q ♦ J ♣ of Abhishek Jalan. Preflop saw Jalan bet 25,000 and Thakur shoved his stack 124,000 into the pot. Jalan called the shoved but when the board opened 4 ❤ 9 ♦ Q ❤ A ♦ 7 ❤ , Thakur’s aces and nines helped him score a double-up against Jalan. While Thakur may be ecstatic about this development, Jalan’s heavy loss will create a dent on his chip stack.
