Akshay Nasa Captures Top Spot Of Mini High Roller At Poker Dream 11


The poker Dream 11 series has wrapped up after a successful outing at Genting Highlands; Malaysia and Indians are among the ones who have cashed and won some eye-watering amounts at the felt. Akshay Nasa is one of them. He shipped the Event #42 Mini High Roller, cashing MYR 1,04,500 (~₹17 Lakh) from a prize pool of MYR 3,79,755. He topped the list of 11 entrants at the final table, who were paid out amounts ranging from MYR 9500 to the highest amount going to Akshay. The total number of entrants in the event was 87.

Poker Dream 11 has also seen some other Indian names in its winning lists. Nishant Sharma from India won the Main Event of the tournament series for an eye-watering cash-out of  ~₹1.53 Cr. Another Indian who was among the money at the Poker Dream 11 ME is Harsh Dembla, who placed 5th on the list of winners of the Main Event with a cash-out of MYR 2,54,700 (~₹48 Lakh).

Here’s a list of the payouts at the Final Table of the Mini High Roller:

  1. 1st place – Akshay Nasa (MYR 8,104,500)
  2. 2nd place – (MYR 74,255)
  3. 3rd place – (MYR 48,600)
  4. 4th place – (MYR 37,400)
  5. 5th place – (MYR 29,600)
  6. 6th place –  (MYR 23,200)
  7. 7th place – (MYR 18,200)
  8. 8th place- (MYR 14,200)
  9. 9th place – (MYR 10800)
  10. 10th place –  (MYR 9500
  11. 11th place – (MYR 9,500)

The three Indian winners were mentioned on the Poker Dream 11 social handles along with the other series winners, and the congratulatory messages flowed in. 

Akshay is a prolific Indian player who has been in the money in several national and international tournament series. His total live earnings at the time of writing this article are $511,008 (~96 Lakh).

His best live cash to date was a whopping $90,133 at the Asian Poker Tour—APT Summer Series Hanoi, Vietnam 2023, Hanoi, where he placed 2nd. With this win at Poker Dream 11, Akshay has upped his ante on the Indian poker scene. He is currently 20th on the All-Time India Money list, but that could change with his massive wins.

Akshay Nasa joins a burgeoning list of Indian poker players, making it big on the international poker scene. When such wins hit the headlines, mainstream media takes notice, which gives the sector and the players more credibility. 

Poker is one of the fastest-growing sectors in India, even though live gaming is still banned in some states. However, the success of poker series like the Deltin Poker Series proves that poker can have a great run in the country.
