Abhishek Goindi Ships $1100 Event at Venetian DeepStack Poker Series

The Venetian DeepStack Poker Series is underway at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. The series began on 30th May and will run through 31st July 2024.  Indian poker player Abhishek Goindi, participating in the series after a successful stint at WSOP 2024, shipped the $1,100 NLH UltimateStack Restart Event #66. He took home a prize of more than $92,000 (~ ₹77 Lakh). 

The starting chips for this event were 40,000 and the guarantee was $500,000, which increased to $548,160 due to a massive field of 571 entries taking part. As the second day passed, the field kept narrowing and Goindi stayed alive right through; he seemed pretty stoked about the tournament, giving updates on it, via his Instagram handle. 

He put posts that revealed his gameplay, beginning with being a marginal chip member on the final table, losing a major part of his stack at some point, but then going on to win the title at The Venetian. He posted a story of the winning moment and also pictures of him holding aloft the trophy. The 9-handed final table saw Goindi having a slight chip lead with a stack of 4,700,000. The lowest stack at the final table was Abbas Akhilani, with 1,110,000.

All About Abhishek Goindi

Goindi is a poker veteran, and his first recorded live cash was at the Indian Poker Championship (IPC), Goa in 2010. He placed 6th in that tournament and took home the prize money of $2,579.  His first recorded foreign cash was in 2012, the Asian Poker Tour (APT), Cebu, Philippines, finishing on the final table of that tournament too. 

The final table is set at the Venetian DeepStack Championship Event #66 $1,100 NLH UltimateStack $500K GTD.

Abhishek’s best live cash at the time of writing this article is more than $130K.  He ranks 32nd on the India All Time Money List. Goindi became one of the few Indian poker players who got verified on Instagram and posted about it. He has more than 5000 followers on the social network, and is today known as one of the best poker players and coaches in the country.

There are still more than 10 events that are planned in the Venetian DeepStack Poker Series, and the last one will take place on 31st July, the $400 NLH Epic Bounty $20K GTD (1Day), which will have $100 bounties to start and $500 bounties in the money. With 10 events to go, there will be more winners coming out of this tournament.
