Abhijith Cheruku Ships Event At Won Poker III


Abhijith Cheruku has etched his name into the poker history books with an impressive victory in Event #4 of the 2025 Won Poker Cup III. Outlasting a competitive field of 44 entrants, Cheruku secured the title and a handsome payday of approximately $17,000 from a total prize pool of $42,777.

Abhijith Cheruku has been quite proficient at the poker table, with his first cash at a live table coming in 2020, when he ranked 11th at the Indian Poker Championship, ranking 11th.  Since then, he has grown proficiently, seeing several cashes at the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour, including in his international cashes. Prior to this, he has had two cashes at WON in 2024, ranking 13th and 7th. 

His last cash, prior to his WON poker win, was in 2025, at Event #40 of Asia Pacific Poker Tour—APPT Cambodia, Phnom Penh, where he placed 31st and took home ~$4000. 

From 14th  to 21st May, 2025, the third edition of the Won Poker Cup took centre stage at the luxurious Won Majestic Hotel in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

With $880,000 in guaranteed prizes across 22 events, the series drew a vibrant mix of international players, affirming its reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s most promising poker festivals.

Headlining the schedule was the $600,000 guaranteed Main Event, boasting a $1,320 buy-in and multiple Day 1 flights from May 17 to 19. This marquee tournament attracted strong participation from across the Asia-Pacific region, with notable turnouts from China, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Philippines.

The rest of the festival featured a well-rounded lineup designed for a variety of bankrolls and play styles. Among the most anticipated were the $50,000 Warm-Up, the $80,000 Mystery Bounty, and the $100,000 W High Roller. A full slate of satellites and side events ensured that action was non-stop throughout the week.
