2021 WSOP Online: Andrii Derzhypilskyi Wins His Maiden WSOP Bracelet

2021 WSOP Online bracelet events have been witnessing some intense games and glorious victories over the past few days. 18 coveted WSOP gold bracelets have been claimed so far by poker pros in the 2021 WSOP Online Series Bracelet Events. Adding to the list, Ukrainian player Andrii Derzhypilskyi won his first WSOP bracelet after shipping event #19: $840 6-Handed Bounty No-Limit Hold’em.

From a pool of 2053 entries, only 21 survived to take their journeys further. Derzhypilskyi emerged victorious and walked away with $1,54,322 in prize money along with his maiden WSOP gold bracelet.

Derzhypilskyi, who started on Day 2 with the fifth-highest stack of 59 big blinds (BB), played fearlessly right from the start. The first casualty on the table was Karolis Sereika aka ‘Internecik.’ Sereika moved all-in with his {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} hole cards against the pocket jacks of Silvio Costa aka ‘valterzao.’ The board opened to {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} ending Sereika’s gameplay and handing Costa a win with his three of a kind. Sereika left the table with $20,450.

Next in line was Kelvin Kerber, whose pocket nines couldn’t survive against Costa’s pocket tens, when the board opened to {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}  , giving Costa a higher pair. Kerber took home a paycheque of $22,148 from his sixth-place finish.

Costa continued his busting spree by sending off Ivan Ciursin aka ‘Im44bet’ at the fifth place. Costa’s jack kicker against Ciursin’s nine kicker helped him bust Ciursin when they both hit a three of a kind on the board of  {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Ciursin added $30,092 to his bankroll.

The Day 2 chip leader Luciano Hollanda busted Eder Campana aka ‘BlueMoon’ at the fourth place. Hollanda’s pocket jacks triumphed over Campana’s {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} when {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}  showed up on the board. Campana departed with a paycheque of $52,218.

Costa had some dramatic hands thanks to which he bounced back a couple of times before he was finally busted at the third spot. Costa’s king-queen couldn’t stand against Derzhypilskyi’s pocket aces when he missed a straight on the board of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Derzhypilskyi had a set with his aces. The Albanian pro pocketed an impressive $82,222 in prize money.

The heads-up between the final two went on for quite some time. Finally, Derzhypilskyi’s ace-king won over Hollanda’s pocket fives. A board of {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} gave Derzhypilskyi his winning two-pair hand. Hollanda walked away with $88,466 to his bankroll.
