One of the leading brands in Asia, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) that recently teamed up with GG Network Natural8 wrapped up the 2020 APT Online Series yesterday conducting the wealthiest APT festival ever staged! The series paid out more than $4.1 million in a course of 12-days, smashing the advertised guarantee of $1.5 million. A total of 61 events were lined up with over 18,555 participants in the entire journey. And now, let’s take a quick tour of the final day events…
APT Championship Event
The last featured event in the APT Online Series was Championships Event that fetched 753 entries across 5 starting flights, but the final day commenced with 213 survivors with only 98 finishing in the money. The buy-in was $800 and eventually it was Michael Kim Falcon aka ‘DirtyDuck’ who grabbed the single largest prize money of $97,444 in the entire APT series after knocking out ‘Loris51’ in heads-up. The champion knocked out six players to finally ship the tournament to lift the trophy as well as the Player of the Series title for the second time after already winning at APT Kickoff Vietnam 2019. Falcon jumped all the way from 65th to 1st.

With a buy-in of $300 a total of 379 hopefuls took their seats which generated a bigger prize pool of $106,309. This was multi-flight tournament and only 138 survivors battled on the final day. After three hours, ‘5betbluff.1’ pocketed $16,690 first prize after the players settled for a heads-up deal that saw ‘BigDC8989’ ending in the runner-up position.

A total of 202 hopefuls joined the field after chipping in $500 buy-in and collecting a prize pool of $95,950. The top 27 players added a share from the same to their bankrolls. Coming out on top was ‘Louis Butron’ who beat ‘waransan’ in heads-up to bank $18,866 in cash prize.

The winner emerged within 5 hours of the competition and it was ‘elchobi’ knocking out ‘lovejadeyu’ at heads up to earn $9,186 in prize money including $5k worth of bounties. The top 35 players ended in the money earning a portion of $41k prize pool.

After putting in $100 buy-in APT Online Event #56 on Natural8 garnered a field of 341 entries. The tournament collected a prize pool of $31,883 which well-received by the top 55 finishers. Powering through the field was ‘fckGTO’ who eliminated ‘DUUUUCK’ in heads-up for $5,916 in prize money while the latter settled in the second position for $4,336.

Event 57: NLH Turbo $15,000 GTD
For a buy-in of $50, the event on Natural8 saw 487 entries pouncing on the field to generate a prize pool of $22,727. Claiming the top prize was ‘LongBTC’ who closed this one for $4,205 in prize money after beating ‘yazen’ in heads-up who banked the second place payout of $2,970.

This was an unscheduled event added to the list giving no points to the APT Player of the Series race. The buy-in was $1,000 which saw 120 hopefuls grabbing their seats taking the advertised guarantee to create a prize pool of $114,000. Capturing the first-place prize money was ‘BladeRunner1’ who boosted his bankroll by adding $18,114 in cash prize after the players struck for a 4-way deal which saw ‘VaPaCooler’ in 2nd place. Well, the FT also saw GGPoker brand ambassador Fedor Holz finishing 5th.
