Yasheel Doddanavar is chip leader in Event #34 Day 1B

This guy keeps getting more impressive as time passes. After getting a number of cashes across Asia in the last 5-6 months, Yasheel Doddanavar is now making a name for himself and for Team India at the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Very recently, he bagged a 16th place finish in Event #31 for a prize of around INR 12.8 Lakh.

He moved on to the next challenge and that was Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack NLHE. The tournament had a pretty affordable buy-in and we saw a number of Indian players in the field, from which Doddanavar emerged as not only the Indian leader but also the overall chip leader after Day 1B.

The second of two starting flights, Day 1B attracted some of the biggest names in world poker including ‘Kid Poker’ Daniel Negreanu, but the largest stack at the end of the day is none other than India’s Yasheel Doddanavar, who bagged 415,000 in chips, and Eduards Kudrjavcevs behind him in second place – 380k.

A total of 1,227 players progressed from Day 1B, a similar number to how many progressed from Day 1A, and from these, the top 933 players will get paid with a minimum cash prize of $1,499. However, with Doddanavar bagging a huge stack, he’ll be looking for much more and who knows, maybe even a gold bracelet?

Apart from Doddanavar, 11 other Indian players progressed from Day 1B and those who will take to the tables on Day 2 include Vinod Megalmani (304,300), Deepak Bothra (261,200), Dhaval Mudgal (171,100), Raghav Bansal (149,300), Aditya Sushant (146,100), Yudhishter Jaswal (142,800), Nishant Sharma (97,200), Kunal Patni (96,900), Madhav Gupta (95,100), Gokul Parvathaneni (69,400), Paawan Bansal (68,000), Shravan Chhabria (67,300), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (62,100), Sajal Gupta (51,000), Ashish Ahuja (50,700), and Kartik Ved (29,100).
