Yadish Kumar among winners on SVS Day 1

Spartan Poker recently launched a new series called the ‘Spartan Value Series’ which somewhat follows the same concept of the Little Big Series they used to run in the past. Between 18-25 August 2019, the series has a guarantee of INR 60+ Lakh and there’s plenty to win for all. Yesterday was the first day of the series and you can get a full summary of SVS Day 1 here…

SVS Event #1 Kick Off INR 45k GTD

The series began with the opening event that had a buy-in of only INR 110. As a result, the guarantee was smashed with 713 entries joining and taking the prize pool up to INR 71,300. From them, only the top 39 players tasted success, each getting paid a min-cash of INR 491 which was literally more than four times the original investment. The player to go on and ship the tournament was Ashoo Chopra aka ‘DILATORY’ who bagged the top prize of INR 14,295 for besting this field. The idea of the series is to win big with small buy-ins and that’s exactly the way Chopra began!

SVS Event #2 INR 65k GTD

The buy-in was doubled to INR 220 for the second tournament of the day and once again, 350 entries meant the guarantee was passed. The new prize pool of INR 70,000 was distributed among the top 31 places in this tournament, with a min-cash of INR 616 each. Playing from the FTR platform, it was Yadish Kumar aka ‘FallenKingdom’ who ended as the winner, bagging the first-place cash prize of INR 14,805 after he beat ‘Aikido’ in heads-up, who won INR 9,968 for the runner-up prize. The final hand was K6 vs AQ in a PFAI situation. The board opened Ts Qs 9c 5h 6d and Kumar won with a pair of Queens!

SVS Event #3 INR 30k GTD

With a buy-in of INR 110, the field for this tournament was a healthy one of 386 entries, which passed the guarantee and created a new prize pool of INR 38,600. This was shared among the top 27 places and each of them were paid out a min-cash of INR 386. However, ‘austin253’ was aiming big last evening and he managed to outlast the field to win the top prize of INR 8,549 which is a good bankroll addition for low-stakes tournament players. In heads-up, he got past ‘Kazim’ who played from the FTRpoker platform and won INR 5,770 for finishing second.

SVS Event #4 Prime Time INR 2 Lakh GTD

This was the feature tournament of SVS Day 1 on Spartan Poker and hence the Prime Time name given to it, with the buy-in set at INR 550. A total field of 314 entries joined the competition and eventually, the top 27 players were paid out a minimum of INR 2,000 each. Finishing as the last man standing here was ‘ashokroy’ who won the Prime Time title and strengthened his poker bankroll by INR 44,300. In heads-up, he beat ‘Grinder13’ who also played from the FTRpoker platform, finishing as runner-up for a prize of INR 29,900.

SVS Event #5 HI-Fi INR 4 Lakh GTD

The Hi-Fi happens to be one of Spartan’s most popular daily tournaments and yesterday too, it did well with 442 entries each paying the entry fee of INR 1,100 to take the prize pool up to INR 4.42 Lakh. From this field, the top 36 entries were paid out with a min-cash of INR 2,873 but the biggest winner of the night turned out to be ‘Pluribus’ who ended up taking away the SVS title and INR 88,400 in prize money. In heads-up, he beat ‘himkat’ who ended up earning INR 61,880 for second place.
