Xue Hong-Wei Joins WPT Global as Brand Ambassador

WPT Global is one of the biggest poker brands, and it is popular for snagging the most popular personalities as its brand ambassadors. In the latest development, the poker brand has signed up Taiwanese esports player Xue Hong-Wei as its brand ambassador. Hong Wei primarily plays League of Legends and has taken part in several tournaments. He is currently ranked #85th in the player listing of his home country, People’s Republic of China (PRC) 

33-year-old Xue was associated with Taipei Assassins in 2013 and later transferred to Hong Kong Esports in 2014.  He has played in various tournaments, including the World Desert Championship 2 and The International, with prize money ranging from $30,000 to $2 Million. The company posted about the sign-up on its social media handle and announced that Hong-Wei will now focus on poker. He joins the list of the likes of Phil Ivey and Patrick Tardif as brand ambassadors for WPT Global.

The concept of being an ambassador for one of the biggest brands in poker is pretty exciting and is sure to give Xue some deep insights into the game and also provide him with an opportunity to get into some deep runs, make cash and ship some of the most prestigious events in poker.

It is also interesting to see an esports player venture into the world of poker. Earlier, actors have done so. Esports players will be more accustomed to the aspects of playing and winning, so it could be a pretty good experience for Xue and his fans.

WPT is one of the oldest poker brands, and it has been organizing a series since 2002. With Hong-Wei joining in on the fun, it’s possible that he will be part of the World Championship 2024, which is just around the corner. It will run from 15th until 21st December. The series has caught the attention of the best names in the world of poker by including the largest freeroll in poker history, a whopping $5M—the ClubWPT Gold $5 Million Invitational Freeroll, as a promotion of WPT’s newest partner, ClubWPT Gold. The first prize of this event is $1 Million, and it will run from the 13th to the 15th of December.

ClubWPT Gold is an online platform that plays on a sweepstakes platform and caters to most of the US. Again, it remains to be seen if Hong-Wei will be active in promoting these products. Ambassadors usually get prime placing in poker series organized by the parent company.
