Wynn Resorts Might Be Only Casino In UAE For A While

Wynn Resorts might be getting a leg-up in his business outing in the UAE.Various news reports suggest that there is a slowdown in giving out further gaming licences, which will probably make the Wynn resort literally, the only show in town.

That’s not to say that UAE will have only one casino. A recent discussion by CBRE, the investment bank active in the UAE, says that there will be a second gaming licence, but even they couldn’t say when.

Despite the market not yet factoring the UAE project into Wynn’s stock valuation, analysts pointed out that the slowdown in issuing further integrated resort licenses strengthens Wynn’s head start in the region, potentially extending it by several years. The report also said that Wynn Resorts was committed to get their casino up at the Al Marjan Island.

CBRE stated that the company was fully committed to ensuring a successful launch by focusing on asset development, curating top-tier entertainment and non-gaming amenities, understanding local customers, and training staff to meet Wynn’s high standards.

With global demand for the Wynn brand evident—especially following the recent acquisition of Crown Aspinalls in London—CBRE expects the UAE flagship to unlock broader international opportunities for the company.

The report also noted Wynn’s aggressive stock buyback strategy, suggesting the company is capitalizing on its current valuation before the market fully prices in the UAE development.

CBRE analysts concluded that they anticipated share repurchases to continue at an elevated pace, noting that $813 million remained from the company’s $1 Billion buyback authorization as of 31st December. They suggested that the buybacks could potentially extend beyond the current program until Wynn began receiving credit for its UAE growth prospects.

Dubai has long been known for its luxury tourism, world-class hospitality, and vibrant nightlife. Now, with the potential introduction of casinos, it could become the next major gaming hotspot in Asia. While the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has historically maintained strict regulations on gambling, recent developments—such as Wynn Resorts’ integrated resort project on Al Marjan Island—signal a shift toward embracing the casino industry.

Dubai’s strategic location between Europe and Asia, combined with its well-established infrastructure and high influx of international tourists, makes it a prime candidate for a booming casino industry. The city is already home to some of the most extravagant hotels, entertainment venues, and shopping destinations, which could seamlessly integrate high-end gaming experiences. Additionally, Dubai’s reputation for safety, exclusivity, and luxury aligns well with the high-spending clientele that major casino operators target.

Should the UAE government grant additional licenses, Dubai could rival established casino hubs such as Macau and Singapore. With its ability to attract global investors and affluent visitors, a regulated casino market could significantly boost tourism and revenue. If implemented successfully, Dubai may soon position itself as one of the most sought-after gaming destinations in the world, reshaping the landscape of casino tourism in Asia.
