WSOPE: Julien Martini leads Day 3 of the Main Event


The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is soon coming to standstill with its final week on the run. The mini-series has witnessed several bracelet winners ever since its commencement, King’s Casino has been packed with thrilling actions. The previous night saw the conclusion of Day 3 of the most awaited Main Event.

Grueling with action, the massive field of 541 entries saw only a bunch of 42 players leading to the final table. The prize pool of €5,139,500 was drawn to be shared among the top 82 players receiving a minimum payout of €15,089. Topping the leaderboard, Julien Martini bagging an impressive 5,959,000 chips followed by Dario Sammartino with 3,897,000 chips.

With total live earnings of over $4.2 million, Martini earned his career best-live cash of $2.94 million in PSPC PokerStars Players Championships. And yesterday he climbed at the top spot after winning a big pot off Harry Ross with a straight. The Frenchman is looking forward to grabbing the second biggest WSOP Europe Main Event gold bracelet.

Other big stacks and notables that will return for Day 4 are Anthony Zinno (2,381,000), Jan-Peter Jachtmann (1,879,000), Daniel Rezaei (1,852,000), David “ODB” Baker (1,019,000), Maria Lampropulos (732,000), Roberto Romanello (600,000) and Martin Kabrhel (566,000).

Few well-known faces ending their journey include the defending champion Jack Sinclair with a short stack lost with queen jack against Anthony Zinno’s pocket sixes, 2019 WSOPE Event #2 PLO winner Dash Dudley (48th, €20,424), Day 2 chip leader Paulius Vaiteikunas (50th, €18,330), 4-times bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (71st, €15,784) and so on.

The final 42 players will be back for another 6 levels on Day 4, scheduled to commence today (29 October) at 12 noon local time.

Event #15: €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold’em

With a buy-in of €550, a total of 143 players entered Day 1A of the Colossus No-Limit Hold’em and just a small chunk of 15 players were advancing to Day 2. Topping the field was Dutch player Zhong Chen with 587,000 chips followed by Yusuf Azargolu with 352,000 chips.
