WSOP 2024: Scott Seiver Clinches Fifth Bracelet

Scott Seiver captured his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in 2008 by winning the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event. After a 10-year gap, he secured his second bracelet, igniting a spree that has seen him win four bracelets over the past six years. His most recent victory came in the 2024 $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better championship, where he outlasted a field of 171 entries to claim his fifth WSOP bracelet and a top prize of $426,744.

Reflecting on his win, Seiver told PokerGO reporters, “I made a decision this summer to really focus on tournaments and try to give it my A-game, at a level that I haven’t always done here… so to just come and win the first $10K, it feels very validating.”

The 39-year-old native of New York, now residing in Las Vegas, has accumulated nearly $26.2 Million in career tournament earnings. Despite not being a year-round tournament player, Seiver has achieved significant success. Three of his five World Series of Poker victories have come in $10,000 championship events, including the 2018 Limit Hold’em championship and the 2019 Razz championship. His fourth bracelet came in a $2,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout event.

Seiver’s accomplishment places him among an elite group of just 37 players in poker history who have won five or more WSOP bracelets.

This win marks Seiver’s first title and final-table finish of the year, earning him 780 Card Player Player of the Year points and 427 PokerGO Tour points, propelling him into the top 20 on the high-stakes-centric leaderboard.

This WSOP 2024 event spanned four days, with the top 30 finishers sharing a $1,590,300 prize pool. The final five players each received six-figure payouts. Notable deep runs included two-time bracelet winner Tom Koral (18th), seven-time bracelet winner John Hennigan (17th), bracelet winner Naoya Kihara (16th), four-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi (14th), bracelet winner and 2010 WSOP Main Event runner-up John Racener (11th), Jared Bleznick (8th), Jake Schwartz (7th), and five-time bracelet winner Benny Glaser (6th).
