Can the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024 get any steamier? We guess so. But then what is making me say this? Well, Indian poker pro Santhosh Suvarna is sitting pretty with the second biggest stack ahead of Day 3 in the heavy-duty $250 Super High Roller.
This tournament saw some of the biggest names in international poker mark their attendance. You have Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Koon, Mikita Badziakouski, Jeremy Ausmus, WSOP 2022 Main Event champion Espen Jorstad, Nick Petrangelo, Bryn Kenney, Seth Davies, Chance Kornuth, Isaac Haxton, Sean Winter, Dan Smith, Justin Bonomo, and Brian Rast among others locking horns for the top spot. In such a hardcore battlefield, Suvarna has managed to grab a sweet spot for himself on Day 3.
14 players remain in the @WSOP $250K Super High Roller, with Mikita Badziakouski and Mikalai Vaskaboinikau holding the shortest stacks just two places away from the money.

The Santhosh Suvarna grabbed 14,950,000 in chips behind chip lead Adrian Mateos. The Spanish pro sits with a stack of 16,250,000 chips. Currently only 14 players remain from a pool of 75 entries. Coming to the Poker Hall of Famer, Ivey is 10th highest in chips with a hunt for his 12th bracelet on, it would be interesting to see which way his game goes.

Another notable name in the Super High Roller is Chris Hunichen. Fresh off his victory in the $100K High Roller tournament, ‘Big Huni’ will look to up his bracelet tally from this event. Six-time WSOP bracelet Jeremy Ausmus isn’t a name you can afford to ignore, with years of live poker in his resume, one will keep a close eye on this American pro. Austrian pro and Pokercode co-founder, Matthias Eibinger is 5th highest in chip counts with 8,600,000 in his kitty to fight for the numero position.
Apart from the Super High Roller tournament, Indians are also making a lot of noise in WSOP 2024, especially in the Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em. This tournament has 10 Indian players qualifying from Day 1A while Day 1B had seven Indians making Day 2 of the tournament. Paawan Bansal has the 10th highest stack (345,500 chips) from Day 1B to take a shot at victory. How the Milly Maker turns out to be for the Indian players only time will tell.
