WSOP 2024 Highlights Day 47: Christoph Vogelsang Leading In $50K HR


The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas keeps churning out exciting poker action. Day 47 saw not only progress in the Main Event, but also the awarding of two bracelets and the set-up for several thrilling final tables.

Bracelet Winners Emerge

Calvin Anderson Wins Fifth Bracelet: The decorated pro added another gold piece to his collection, conquering Event #88: $10,000 Eight Game Mixed Championship for a payday of $413,446.

Joseph Sanders Claims Maiden Bracelet: In Event #90: $1,500 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha, Sanders secured his first WSOP bracelet.

Mid-Stakes Championship Heats Up

With 3,177 entries whittled down to 147 players, the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship (Event #89) is heating up. Takao Shimizu leads the pack with a stack of 3,155,000 chips. Familiar names like Lucas Reeves, Asi Moshe, and Scott Blumstein are still in contention. Action resumes on 14th July at 11 AM.

H.O.R.S.E. Heads-Up Battle Spills Over

Racener and Bolden to Decide Champion: The $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. (Event #91) couldn’t be settled in a single day. John Racener and Gary Bolden will return on 14th July to determine the winner and recipient of the coveted bracelet and $206,321 top prize.

High Roller To Crown A Winner

Christoph Vogelsang Leads Final Five: After Day 2 of the $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em (Event #92), only five players remain. Vogelsang holds a commanding chip lead, with Jared Bleznick in second place. They’ll battle it out for the $2,037,947 top prize on 14th July at 1 PM.

Lucky 7s Attracts Big Names

Day 1A Sees Strong Turnout: Event #93: $777 Lucky 7’s No-Limit Hold’em (7-Handed) drew 1,498 players on Day 1a. Michael McNeil currently leads the chip counts, with Vanessa Kade among the top ten. The event continues with Day 1B on 14th July at 10 AM.

Prestigious 6-Max Championship Underway

James Chen bagged the chip lead after Day 1 of the prestigious $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em Championship (Event #94). While some big names like Daniel Negreanu and Mike Matusow fell short, players like Joao Simao and past Main Event champions Jack Sinclair and Joe McKeehen will return for Day 2 on 14th July at 1 PM.
