WSOP 2024 Highlights Day 35: Brian Rast Hunting Bracelet #7


Day 35 of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas saw poker stars shine brightly with thrilling action across seven events. One event concluded, and many notable players found themselves high on the leaderboards.

Ladies Championship Victory For Shiina Okamoto

Event #71: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Championship saw Japan’s Shiina Okamoto triumph, redeeming herself after a runner-up finish in 2023. She defeated popular pro Jamie Kerstetter heads-up to claim her first WSOP bracelet.

Colossus Field Narrows To 92 Players

Event #70: $400 Colossus, which began with 19,337 participants, is now down to 92 players competing for a $501,250 top prize and a bracelet. Joel Vanetten leads with 20,650,000 chips, followed closely by Andrew Dubuque (18,575,000) and Justin Fawcett (17,500,000). Matt Glantz (12,825,000), Men “The Master” Nguyen (10,050,000), and Greg Raymer (8,100,000) are among the notable contenders. Day 3 starts at 12:00 PM local time.

David Eldridge Leads $25K PLO with Rast in Contention

Event #73: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha is down to five players. David Eldridge leads with 23,400,000 chips, followed by Ethan Cahn (17,550,000) and Yang Wang (12,250,000). Brian Rast, aiming for his seventh bracelet, holds 9,450,000 chips. Juha Helppi rounds out the finalists. The action resumes on July 2 at 3:00 PM local time, with PokerGO streaming the event.

Todd Ivens Leads $10K Stud Hi-Lo Championship

Event #74: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship sees Todd Ivens leading the final 18 players with 1,190,000 chips. Andrey Zhigalov (983,000) follows, along with notable players like Todd Brunson (859,000), Brad Ruben (738,000), and Jake Schwartz (735,000). The final day begins on June 2 at 1:00 PM local time.

Tag Team Event Draws Over 1,400 Teams

Event #75: $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em attracted 1,437 teams, with 292 advancing to Day 2. Derek Stark and his teammate lead with 485,000 chips. Teams donned matching outfits and fancy dress, maintaining the event’s fun atmosphere. Day 2 resumes at 11:00 AM local time.

Romanello Shines in $10,000 Mystery Bounty

Event #76: $10,000 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em saw 965 entrants, with 236 making it to Day 2. Matthew Beinner leads with 1,090,000 chips, followed by Robert Romanello (868,000) and Stephen Chidwick (825,000). Mystery bounties start on Day 2, with potential prizes including a $1 Million bounty. Play resumes at 11:00 AM local time.

Patrick Moulder Leads Mixed Big Bet Event

Event #77: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet Event sees Patrick Moulder leading after Day 1 with 388,500 chips. Anthony Ribeiro (315,000) and Joshua Adcock (312,500) follow. Notable survivors include Andres Korn (295,000), David “ODB” Baker (264,000), and Scott Bohlman (246,000).

Late registration is open until Level 12 on Day 2, which starts at 1:00 PM local time. With intense competition and high stakes, the 2024 WSOP continues to deliver unforgettable moments and crowning achievements.
