Daniel Weinman shocked everyone as he walked away with the $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship title at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He pocketed the $12,100,000 prize money after claiming the title of Main Event champion on what was a much shorter final day of WSOP 2023.
The 35-year-old managed to emerge victorious in the Main Event, which saw 10,043 battle it out for a prize pool of $93,399,900. It just took 164 hands at the final table as Weinman secured the title, which made it the shortest Main Event 3-handed play. The Day 10 of the event clocked under three hours after Adam Walton was eliminated in third place, pocketing $4,000,000.
Despite being an accomplished player with over $15 Million in earnings, Daniel Weinman had not found much success in poker’s most prestigious event. After grinding for 16 years in WSOP, he had cashed only once in the Main Event. He had little hope of winning the tourney when he registered for the series.
The Georgia-based player was nothing short of spectacular and was just two cards away from falling out on Day 8. However, he ended up hitting a two-outer to record one of the most pivotal suck-outs in poker history.

The all-star rail of Shaun Deeb, Josh Arieh and Jason Mercier boasted the biggest grin in the entire Horseshoe Event Center. Speaking with PokerNews after the Main Event win, He was quoted saying, “I was honestly on the fence about even coming back and playing this tournament.”
