WSOP 2020: Karim Khayat Leads Day 1C of $25M Main Event


The poker community around the world was eagerly waiting for the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online. Who knew that the online version of the World Series would feature a never-before-seen $25 Million GTD Main Event! Both GGPoker and Natural8 players are determined to claim big this season!

The WSOP Event #77: $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event concluded Day 1B attracting a field of 114 entries. After 15 levels of play, only 25 players survived with China’s Xuming ‘scplayer’ Qi becoming the chip leader. Qi collected the largest stack of 620,372 followed by Dan Smith, who ended the night with 421,653 chips. Smith was one of the most decorated players on the table with over $36 million in live earnings. Whereas Daniel ‘Tourmination’ Petersen finished in third place bagging 384,569 chips.

Other notable players to progress to Day 2 include Stefan Burakov (339,041), Simon Higgins (304,491), Laurynas Levinskas (220,587), Sung Joo ‘ArtePokerTV’ Hyun (141,789), Sergi Reixach (132,074), Antonio ‘nanqtf’ Pedro (108,232), Steven van Zadelhoff (93,853) and so on.

The third starting flight, Day 1C saw 19 remaining survivors out of 110 entries. By now, a total of 143 players have secured their seats to Day 2 that is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 30. Topping the list was Lebanon’s Karim ‘elhareefff’ Khayat who accumulated the biggest stack of 656,260 followed by Alan ‘TheCockroach’ Schein with 455,015 chips and Ali Imsirovic with 444,538 chips.

Other notable names booking their seat to the Sunday battle include Guoliang Wei (306,049), Timothy Nuter (285,994), Caio De Almeida (269,089), Sebastian Sikorski (219,003) and so on. Players only have the option to re-enter up to three times.
