WPT Vietnam: Mateo leads 41 survivors on Day 1A

The World Poker Tour (WPT) paved its way for Season XVII Asia-Pacific and recently, Day 1A of the 2019 WPT Vietnam Main Event VND 15 billion GTD kicked off at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The tour shows no signs of slowing up with participations from Eastern region and beyond.

The largest stack of the day belonged to Christopher Mateo leading among the 41 surviving out of 93 entries at the VND 55 million buy-in tournament. Mateo bagged 272,000 chips. He is one of the top players in the Philippines after winning APT Philippines 2019 Main Event in April. He’s followed by Austrian Martin Stausholm bagging 234,400 chips.

Yesterday also witnessed few other excellent Indian poker players participating, like Jaideep Sajwan, Sriharsha D, Alok Birewar, and WSOP bracelet winners Aditya Sushant and Abhinav Iyer, none of whom couldn’t make it to the big Day 2, but re-entries are always welcome on the following Day 1B and 1C.
