WPT to take over Esports Arena, Las Vegas

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is one of the biggest poker brands across the world and they are set to take control of the Esports Arena at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. They will take over the arena between 25th and 28th of this month as the poker schedule at the venue is busy during those dates.

The WPT Bellagio $25,000 High Roller took place earlier this month, play was suspended after reaching the final table and it will resume at the Luxor on 25th May, after a break of nearly 3 weeks. The final table action will be filmed for television and Tom Marchese holds the chip lead among the 6 survivors, competing for $432,000.

Similarly, the season-ending, $15,000 buy-in WPT Tournament of Champions will kick off on 24th May at the Aria, but the final day action (26th May) will move to the Luxor’s Esports Arena, a $20 million state-of-the-art facility. The venue had its opening in March 2018 and poker is set to take center stage for the first time here.

27th May will see WPT hold a taping of a televised $100/$200 no-limit hold’em cash game, while on 28th May, the ClubWPT Challenge the Champs tournament will take place. Here, two qualifiers Monte “Dino” Phelps and Thomas Wallett will compete against pros in front millions of television viewers, for $50k. The confirmed pros for this event are Darren EliasDavid WilliamsScotty NguyenYevgeniy TimoshenkoMohsin Charania, and Mike Sexton.

We’re set for four days of some entertaining poker action at the Esports Arena towards the end of this month, where visitors can also win prizes such as seats to the WPT500 Las Vegas. You can get all updates of these major tournaments on GutshotMagazine.com, so stay tuned.
