WPT India 2019: Deepak Bothra leads 29 in 25k Big Bounty

The third tournament to kick start at the 2019 WPT India series was the 25k Big Bounty tournament which as the name suggests is a bounty tournament. The tournament began at 3pm yesterday and each player received a starting stack of 20,000, while every bounty is worth INR 11,000.

So many known names hit the tables at the start of the tournament including Meherzad Munsaf, Nishant Sharma, Maria Kirloskar, bracelet winner Aditya Sushant, Adda52 Pro Kunal Patni, Abhishek Goindi, Siddarth Singhvi, Vikram ‘Lungi’ Kumar, Sriharsha D and of course, the 4-time bracelet winner, US pro Robert Mizrachi.

With the end of level 8, late registration closed and we had a field of 225 entries in the tournament, the biggest field of the series so far. The payouts were calculated and the top 29 were to be awarded with a minimum cash of INR 19,500. The day then halted when the bubble burst on Pradeep Sharma, who was knocked out in 30th place by Karan Kapoor, the latter rivering a flush.

All will be paid when play resumes on Day 2 today, but no one will want to get anything less than the INR 6,63,830 top prize. So far, Deepak Bothra is in the driver’s seat to go on and claim that prize, currently holding a massive stack of 700,000 chips. After him is Karan Kapoor who progresses with a stack of 516,000.
