WPT heads to Cambodia for inaugural stop

One of the world’s most popular tournament poker brands is the World Poker Tour and their ever expanding footprint now covers the South East Asian country of Cambodia. The WPT Cambodia series will be held from 16-25 November in the well known NagaWorld Resort, the country’s largest entertainment and leisure complex located in the capital city of Phnom Penh.

The highlight of the series will of course the WPT Cambodia Main Event, with a buy-in of $1100 and a very attractive guarantee of $250,000 (~1.74 Crores). This Main Event will take place from 21-25 November. Attending players can also look forward to a full schedule of 16 additional events with buy-ins starting from $250 all the way up to Highroller buy-ins of $5300.

In the past few years, South East Asia has becomes a favourite among Indian players. As compared to its counterparts in developed markets like the US and Europe, tournament series in Asia have more affordable buy-ins, attractive guarantees as well as reasonable flight and hotel expenses. Team india has left its mark in Macau, Manila and most recently in Vietnam with players like Dhaval Mudgal winning the WPT Vietnam last year and recent WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer winning the Asian Poker Tour Main Event in Vietnam as well.
