The World Poker Tournament (WPT) is one of the most popular poker series. It attracts poker players from all over the world. Steven Lipscomb founded the World Poker Tour in 2002. In 2022, WPT introduced the mid-major tour WPT Prime.
Since its inception, the WPT Prime tournament has traveled to 12 countries. The last WPT Prime was held in 2023 at Wynn, Las Vegas. In 2024, the WPT Prime Taiwan Festival commenced on 6th to 19th August at CTP Asian Poker Arena in Taipei City. The series had 50 trophy events. These events are the performing grounds for some of the most proficient poker players in the world.

WPT Prime has been active since 2022 and is in its 3rd season. The first season started in May of that year, and the tournaments went on until December. The tournaments took place in Vietnam, the Gold Coast, Cambodia, Madrid, and Taiwan. The final Prime Championship of 2022 took place in Wynn, Las Vegas, between 8th to 12th December 2022, with a GTD prize pool of $2 Million at stake.

Stephen Song won the championship that year, taking home a prize of $712,650 among 5,340 entrants. In the same year, India’s Zarvan Tumboli shipped the WPT Prime Vietnam Event and cashed out $131,294 at Crown Poker Club.
In 2023, the Prime Championships took place in Paris, Gold Coast, Cambodia, Amsterdam, India, Slovakia, and Vietnam. Sanremo, Aix-en-Provence, Madrid and other places. Its India leg, WPT Prime India, was hosted by Deltin Royale Ship in Goa and saw 857 entries, with a prize pool of ₹50,648,700 ($61,832). Prasit Chowdhary shipped the tournament, taking home ₹8,660,000 ($105,809). Calvin Anderson won the Championship and took home $1,386,280 at a six-person Final Table at Wynn, Las Vegas.
