Everyone knows Phil Ivey as a poker legend with 10 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. Apart from the bracelets, Ivey has one WPT title to his credit. In 2017 this poker maestro was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Regarded as the best all-round poker player in the world, Ivey has $37,713,083 in total live earnings and ranks ninth in the All-Time Money list according to Hendon Mob. Why are we writing about Ivey’s accomplishments? Someone of Ivey’s stature will surely not sit in World Poker Tour’s (WPT) office and answer calls, right? Yes, this happened. Read on to know what the matter is all about.
Recently the 45-year-old shared a video on Twitter. In the video, he is seen doing the job of a customer support executive and answering to customer queries at WPT Global’s office. He gets a call from a player enquiring about a $1 buy-in event offering a $1 million guarantee. He responds to the query saying, “A dollar for a million?! No chance. Why would we do that?!” and hangs up the call. He then turns to his co-worker and says, “I keep getting these phone calls. A dollar for a million. What’s that all about?” Ivey’s colleague then replies and adds, “$1?! C’mon, no chance!” (sic)
Suddenly their boss walks up and tells them about a tournament that offers a $1 million guarantee for a buy-in of just $1. The boss further adds, “Guys, hope you got the mellow. $1, $1 million event. Wanna push that.” (sic) Ivey immediately responded by saying, “Okay, boss, we’re all over.

The video ends with an announcement urging players to sign up on WPTGlobal.com and use the bonus code ‘IVEY’ to play the $1 for $1 million tournament.
So that clears up the air that Ivey hasn’t taken up a new job at WPT Global, and the video is just a part of the promotional campaign to endorse the $1 for $1 million tournament, which is scheduled on WPTGlobal.com. The tournament is a part of the WPT Summer Festival. Ivey also suggested that he will be playing at the WPT Summer Festival, and fans are excited to see if this poker dynamo adds WPT titles to his name.
