Wednesday Round Up: Mithun Mahesh & Aditya Singh Clinch Winning Titles


Poker players flooded the virtual felts of online platforms as multiple tournaments were conducted on the day of Bakri Eid. PokerBaazi’s The Pride tournament was shipped by Mithun Mahesh while Adda52’s marquee Maverick event was nailed by online reg Aditya Singh. The online scene has also been bustling with action as the glorious India Online Poker Championship July 2021 has been going on.  So readers, let’s do a quick recap of what went down last night.

The Pride – ₹10 Lakh GTD

The Pride tournament on PokerBaazi had 388 entries in total. This ₹3,850 buy-in event was shipped by Mithun Mahesh aka ‘pokeraja’ who cashed ₹2,85,000 in prize money. The runner-up in this event was online reg Tanay Hegde aka ‘tannycruz’ who took home ₹2,00,000 in prize money.

Following Hegde was yet another pro player Anmol Mehta aka ‘anzzzzz’ who was the second runner-up in this event. Mehta received a pay cheque of ₹1,28,000. The tournament’s initial guarantee was surpassed and a new prize pool of ₹13,58,000 was formed. The top 45 players were paid a min-cash of ₹7,604. 

Notable players who made it in the money in this event were Sagar Choudhury (15th, ₹16,980), Aman Parakh (18th, ₹14,530), Sahil Mahboobani (23rd, ₹11,410), Ritwik Khanna (30th, ₹8,827), Manish Lakhotia (34th, ₹8,827), Kunal Patni (36th, ₹8,827), Vishnu Khandelwal (44th, ₹7,604) among others.

Maverick – ₹15 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s Maverick tournament was nailed by Aditya Singh aka ‘konstantinn’ who took home an impressive ₹3,82,500 in prize money. The runner-up of this event was poker queen and India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 commentator Kanchan Sharma aka ‘thandicoke’ who received a pay cheque of ₹2,17,500. The tournament had a highly competitive field and the top 63 players were paid a min-cash of ₹3,750. 

This ₹2,500 buy-in tournament saw several pro players like Sahil Mahboobani (9th, ₹22,500), Saurabh Rohila (13th, ₹16,500), IOPC January 2020 Millionaire Main Event winner Anurag Srivastava (21st, ₹10,500), IOPC July 2021 commentator, and pro player Goonjan Mall (29th, ₹7,500), Sanat Mehrotra (43rd, ₹5,250), Naresh Veeravalli (49th, ₹5,250), Shashank Desai (56th, ₹3,750), IOPC reg Guruprasad Gupta (57th, 3,750) among others finish in the money.
