Waking Up in Vegas by Katy Perry And Myths About The Dream City!

An American Pop singer Katy Perry once wrote a Pop Rock song called ‘Waking Up in Vegas’ which paid homage to the world renowned phrase, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. In an interview, one of the songwriters of the song, Andreas Carlsson, claimed that they “Really wanted to tell the story that described that moment when everybody’s checking out on Vegas after they’ve had their fun.”

Here are few lines from the song:

“Shut up and put your money where your mouth is
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas
Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes, now
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas..”

Las Vegas City is a dream for millions that wish to make it big in the industry of card games, casino gaming and several others who visit the dream city to try their hand on the Vegas strip. Let’s take a look at three of the most popular myths about Las Vegas :

  • People in Las Vegas party all the time

Visuals in the song imply a rags to riches story but that’s not what every players experience is. The belief that one goes all decked up to Las Vegas with just a few bucks in their pocket, plays in the casinos and goes home as a billionaire is not always the case. Vegas is home to a community that is hardly engaged in gambling. The culture of partying is a non-stop phenomenon in Vegas. But today times have changed, you don’t see women wearing fancy gowns and holding margaritas roaming on the strip. Andrea Bennett, Editor-in-Chief of Vegas Magazine once said, “We were once a cultural wasteland but not any longer.”

  • Vegas is not family friendly

While it was largely an adult-only place, today things seem to have changed. Taking the example of Casino Circus Circus on the Vegas Strip, which hosts shows for families that come to the city. It is a carnival theme based casino that has a dedicated space for kids to enjoy their time at the Vegas Strip. Are you going to visit Las Vegas with your family or no ?

  • You will never win big

People tend to believe that casinos have a certain algorithm that prevents players from winning their dream jackpot, but it isn’t actually like that. One only becomes a pro after they have played for years altogether. To win big, a lot of skills and some luck is required. Instead of trying to win a jackpot by dumping all of your life savings into slot machines, start slow and always set a gambling budget.

These are just a few among the many other myths about Las Vegas. Despite the glitz and glamour, there is much more about the place that has not been explored yet. Katy Perry’s song is one such example that describes the place in the most perfect manner. Keep an eye on  GutshotMagazine.com to read more such articles.
