Gaming and eSports in India is in its nascent stage. However, with so many individuals warming up to mobile gaming, it is one of the most lucrative sectors. The Indian Mobile Congress is an annual event that creates awareness about the latest happenings in the telecom world and is currently holding its ninth edition. Some of the top names in the industry are pegged to speak at the event, including Mr. Ajay Jain, EVP, of Bharti Airtel Ltd. Akshay Dhoot, Executive Director, SmartPing, and Alejandro Holcman, Qualcomm Technologies. The IMC is one of the few opportunities in India for telecom entities and individuals to network and show what’s next on their plate – and for the industry.

With Vodafone launching an eSports tournament in India, it could only be a matter of time before other telecoms and other media companies follow suit. All this could be the booster that the Indian gaming fraternity is looking for. Big brands getting into a business generally means major events and paydays coming to the industry.
