Vinod Megalmani finishes 5th in Aussie Millions Terminator


AUD 1,150 Terminator

Vinod Megalmani is someone who’s sending shockwaves in the Indian poker community. He won The Spartan Poker’s Millionaire title for INR 25 Lakhs in December last year, making his career best online cash. He then went on to win the PLO HR in IOPC for another INR 11,00,400. Now, Megalmani has made his presence felt in the biggest live series of the southern hemisphere – the 2019 Aussie Millions.

One of the side-events in 2019 Aussie Millions, the Event #13 AUD 1,150 Terminator got over a couple days ago. Megalmani (in another event pcitured above) made a spectacular run in the event and finished 5th for a cool $14k (~INR 9.9 Lakhs). He made a deep finish, beating a field of 489 entries to clinch his 5th position.

Megalmani loves to play live and has cashes dating back to 2015. His most recent one was where he finished 45th in the 2018 WPT India Main Event for INR 1,53,000. He has played in the poker capital of the world – Las Vegas – in Aria 2017 Poker Classic and cashed there as well at 53rd. The Aussie Millions win is still not his biggest live cash. He made his best cash of $11,601 in 2016 APPT Manila for finishing 2nd. Megalmani is also playing in the Main Event of the 2019 Aussie Millions in Day 1C. Aditya Sushant and Raghav Bansal were also spotted.

The player to ship the Terminator was Greece’s Ioannis Angelou-Konstas (pictured above), taking home AUD 59,695 (~INR 30.41 Lakhs). The Greek pro, who Is currently 3rd in his country’s All Time Money List, defeated Australian pro Michael Fraser in heads-up to bag his victory. Konstas also bagged his first ANTON ring with this title win. Konstas also played for Gujarat Falcons in the Poker Sports League (PSL) Season 2 last year and the team came 2nd ultimately succumbing to Goan Nuts.

India’s WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant also made ripples in the 2019 Aussie Millions. He finished 25th in Event #14 AUD 1,150 Hype Turbo for AUD 2,410 (~INR 1.22 Lakhs). He is an avid live player as well and needs no introduction here. He is looking will play in Main Event Day 1C having earned a ticket in one of the satellites at Crown Melbourne.

His recent big live cash of $18,534 came from finishing 4th in the APT Finale Manila Championships Event. Sushant will be looking to play in more upcoming tournament series and be hoping to cash in them too. The winner of the Hyper Turbo was Australia’s Michel Bouskila who took home AUD 80,930 (~INR 41.24 Lakhs) as 1st place cash prize beating 336 entries for the kill-shot. Some notables to earn a payout include Natalie Teh (32nd – AUD 2,240).

Another side-event in the Aussie Millions, the AUD 1,150 Accumulator saw India’s Jayan Prasad make an awesome 4th place finish, earning AUD 52,710 (~INR 26.86 Lakhs). He made the entire Indian community proud and his finish must’ve also boosted the morale for Indian players in Aussie Millions.
