Varun Gulati wins SSS #3 on Spartan for INR 1,15,875

Varun Gulati emerged victorious in the SSS #3 event of Spartan Super Series for INR 1,15,875. Gulati outlasted a total of 274 entries in the tournament. The prizepool was distributed to top 18 places with a min-cash of INR 7,200. Gulati who plays under the moniker ‘vg007’ defeated ‘thekid’ in the heads-up battle who collected INR 76,725 for the second place finish.

Gutshot spoke to Gulati after this victory. He said, “Key hand was the final one when I had Ace Ten and we both were very deep and I checked call every street to trap him and then check called his river shove with trip 10s. We both had similar stacks (50-60 BB Deep).”

The final hand of the tournament came in the Level #46 with blinds running 11,500-23,000-2,300 where the heads-up opponents ‘vg007’ had [Ts Qh] and thekid had [4s 8s]. The hand saw a raise and re-raise match till the river. The board ran Kh Th 2h Td 4c. vg007 hits a three of a kind Tens and takes down the title too.
