Amidst Typhoon Crisis, USOP Hai Phong 2024 To Proceed As Planned

U Series of Poker (USOP) is all set to host its latest event of the year, USOP Hai Phong 2024. The event takes place from the 11th to the 23rd of September at Dream Dragon Resort in Hai Phong, Vietnam. These plans could have suffered due to Vietnam being hit by Typhoon Yagi, the latter causing all sorts of ruckus including floods, landslides, power outages across the country, and more.

However, the USOP team is working tirelessly to ensure the event is on track, while prioritising the safety and well-being of the players. The company today announced via a post on its social media that they’re continuously monitoring local conditions and the series will proceed as scheduled. While the typhoon itself has subsided, some locations around the country are still reeling from the devastation. The company revealed that while there was electricity at the Dream Dragon Resort, internet connectivity and air conditioning were still being worked on.

Typhoon Yagi has been the most devastating natural calamity to hit Vietnam this year and has resulted in the death of at least 50 people. The destruction has also affected neighbouring countries like China and the Philippines. The Vietnamese government has revealed earlier that the typhoon has affected power supplies and telecommunications in various parts of the country, including Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.

The event managers have taken every possible step to ensure that there’s complete transparency about whatever is happening with the USOP Hai Phong series. Amidst all the destruction, the Vietnamese officials are working hard to restore some sense of normalcy. The government is sure to take ample precautions in the aftermath of the natural disaster.

At the same time, the USOP team is doing their best to guide players who have already booked their travels or are expect to arrive at the location soon. If you’re one of the travellers, please reach out to the team to get latest updates on the local conditions and travel logistics.
