USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1: Abhinav Iyer Finishes 4th In SHR

U Series of Poker (USOP) kicked off its event in Da Nang on 19th March 2024. This is Part 1 of the Da Nang series which is being held at Pullman Beach Resort. The series, which will draw curtains on 1st April 2024, witnessed a large number of players from across the globe marking their attendance. 

One of those who hoped to win a marquee tournament title was poker pro Abhinav Iyer. He was grinding in the Super High Roller event. Here, the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner took the fourth position for a payday of VND 1,223,900,000 ($49,371). 

Super High Roller – USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1

In this heavy-duty tournament, Iyer managed to finish as the chip leader on Day 1. The VND 88,000,000 (~$3,620) buy-in event had 133 entries on its first day. Day 2 had a total of 194 entries (128 unique).

The Super High Roller paid 29 places and saw Australia’s Adam Kharman ship the tourney for VND 3,406,000,000 ($137,394). The runner-up was Korea’s Lee Juyeol for VND 2,262,400,000 ($91,263). Talking about the winner, this victory was Kharman’s first live poker title, maiden six-figure cash grab and first time at an USOP event. Coming to the Indian poker pro, Iyer made heads turn with incredible poker acumen.

Abhinav Iyer Bust Out Hand

In the final hand Iyer played on the final table, he got dealt J8s against his rival’s K4o. Both were short stacked and were looking to add more chips to survive ahead. Sadly for Iyer, his J8 did no good on a board of 5 ❤ 4 ♠ 5 ♣ A ♣ 5 ♦ . The Mumbai lad was eliminated in fourth place. 

When it came to the Super High Roller, this event turned out to be quite gruelling, with the final table running for over six hours. But in the end it was all worth it for the top place finisher.
