The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) Season 3 is underway at the Kings Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Marking an end to the Spanish Cup, the major attraction of any poker series, the SPF Main Event in collaboration with TIPS, running between 5 Feb to 10 Feb wrapped up Day 1A and 1B.
The first flight of SPF Main Event which displays a handsome €300,000 GTD (~INR 2.35 Crore), attracted a total of 123 entries (107 unique and 16 re-entries) for a buy-in of €250 (~INR 19,590). After hours of shuffling cards and chips in the air, Spain’s Joan Perez Hereu amassed the largest stack of 551,000, now leading with 29 survivors to Day 2. The chip in-charge is followed by Dominik Martan bagging 432,000 chips and Martin Inger with 408,000 chips, rounding up the top three players on Day 1A.

Day 1B was scheduled at 6 pm local time yesterday. Garnering a total of 193 players in the Spanish Poker Festival Main Event, once again dominated by Spaniards. The field whittled down to 37 players by the end of the day and Agustin Minguez was another Spanish chip leader accumulating a massive stack of 627,000 chips followed by Inigo Rodriguez with 533,000 chips and Colombia’s Philippe Acosta bagging 511,000 chips.
The Main Event pulled out a bunch of Indian participants including Manish Goenka, Siddhartha Baroot, Abhimanyu Rao, Vatsalya Rao, Sanjay Taneja, Avneesh Munjal, Himanshu Dewan, Kanishka Samant, Mani Singh Guruditta but only two contenders Jaydeep Dawer (picture above) with 197,000 chips and Pratik Verma with 74,000 chips survived the field and are now progressing to Day 2.
Day 1B top 10 chip counts:
Day 1C of the Main Event is scheduled to commence today, 7 February at 6 pm local time.
The €500 SPF High Roller, two-day event crowned Day 1 chip leader and Spain’s Cuack who entered with 570,500 chips. The winner defeated his countrymate Vincente Gargallo in heads-up and boosted his poker bankroll with €16,347 (~INR 12.78 Lakhs) in prize money!
Unfortunately, the day did not end in favour of Indian participants who busted quite early in the competition, leaving the table empty-handed. The guarantee of the High Roller €50,000 GTD was smashed to become €64,980 that reached the top 17 players, earning a min-cash of €1,020.
Top 10 final payout:
Indians have been hopping from one table to another. With several ongoing tournaments, the €900 TIPS Super High Roller displaying €75,000 GTD saw two Indian countrymates Kanishka Samant with 480,000 chips and Allen Arun Bansode bagging 427,000 to battle it out on the final day that is scheduled to commence today, 7 February at 2 pm local time.
