With lockdown 2.0 in the country, there’s a lot of action going on this week in the online poker world. PokerBaazi is all set to stun the online poker arena with the ultimate EndBoss INR 5 Crore GTD, the Spartan Super Series (SSS) on Spartan Poker and of course the flagship tournaments on Adda52 and PokerStars. Although Thursday night was a little unusual, Spartan Poker faced technical issues, however, the site assured to continue all events today from where it left off. So, let’s check out the big winners across the leading platforms…
Vaibhav Temani aka ‘AllinPavBhaji’ took down SSS #51 Afternoon Showdown INR 8 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker yesterday. The tournament attracted a total of 380 entries after each one paid INR 2,200 out of which only the top 31 places earned a min-cash of INR 7,040. Temani defeated ‘royalking111’ in level 47 of the tournament and bagged the winner’s title along with the prize money.
Yesterday the Summit Mini INR 7.5 Lakhs GTD got underway on PokerBaazi at 4 pm and a total of 212 entries joined the field. Each one chipped in INR 3,300 to create the final prize pool to be distributed among the top 24 places. At 8:24 pm, the last man standing was online reg Pranjal Gandhi aka ‘lillmessi’ who captured INR 1.81 Lakhs in prize money after defeating ‘Victor007’ in heads-up who eventually earned INR 1.27 Lakhs for settling in the second position.
PokerBaazi is hosting the biggest online poker tournament in the country EndBoss INR 5 Crore GTD and last night halted with Flight 1B. Recording a giant field of 1,376 entries only 152 survived and progressed to Day 2. Topping the list to lead the other players was Deepak Meena aka ‘Drocks01’ who accumulated the largest stack of 5.04 Lakhs. Following the chip leader’s club was Nikita Agarwal aka ‘skillfox’ with 4.65 Lakhs chips and Sanat Mehrotra bagging INR 4.12 Lakhs chips, rounding up the top three.
Adda52’s Thursday flagship tournament Godfather INR 25 Lakhs GTD garnered a pretty good field such that the advertised guarantee was smashed to become INR 36.75 Lakhs in prize pool. Knocking out Anmol Mehta in heads-up to secure a hefty INR 8.45 Lakhs in cash prize was ‘FireExit’. Eventually, Mehta took home INR 4.85 Lakhs for his efforts.
Another attraction besides Godfather on Adda52 was Hexagram INR 2.5 Lakhs GTD which attracted a pretty decent field enough to draw INR 3.7 Lakhs in prize pool. The top 19 places earned a min-cash but the one to grab the largest portion was circuit popular Ashish Ahuja aka ‘rocky3705’ who eliminated ‘hardikkumar147’ in heads-up for INR 1.02 Lakhs in prize money.
PokerStars’ Thursday feature Highroller INR 15 Lakhs GTD pulled out 230 runners for INR 7,700. Riding past the field was the man who needs no introduction, Anant Purohit aka ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ to seize the winner’s title along with the first-place prize money of INR 3.10 Lakhs. On Wednesday Purohit triumphed SSS #49 Destiny Jr which clearly wasn’t enough for the talented poker player. Yesterday he defeated ‘sara@11108’ in heads-up who eventually settled in the second place for INR 2.29 Lakhs.
