The festive season in India has started, and poker platforms are stoked to host high-value tournaments. Yesterday was all about staple tournaments on most big platforms such as Spartan Poker, Adda52, PokerBaazi and PokerStars.
Kanchan Sharma shipped Adda52’s prestigious Godfather tournament. Rajat Sharma conquered the Summit and Sahil Mahboobani crushed PokerStars Highroller. Keep reading to know more about who shipped tourneys on other platforms too.
Kanchan Sharma aka ‘thandicoke’ and mystery player ‘robinx90210’ ended the Godfather tournament on Adda52 with a deal. While Sharma grabbed the top spot and received ₹4,92,781 in prize money, while ‘robinx90210’ took home ₹4,82,219. The ₹5,500 buy-in tournament had 440 entries in total. The top 49 players made it in the money.
Talking about her victory, Sharma says, “I was struggling alot with motivation and inspiration last few months. But very recently I realised that if you work inspiration will come, if you wait inspiration will wait. Believe in the process and work on things that are in your control.”
PokerBaazi’s staple Summit tournament had 226 entries in total. The advertised guarantee of this event was crushed and the final prize pool stood at ₹16,95,000. The top 27 players made it in the money. A min-cash of ₹14,070 was paid. Rajat Sharma aka ‘LungFakeer’ shipped this ₹8,250 buy-in tournament. This well-known poker player received a paycheque of ₹3.99,000. The runner up in this event was Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ who took home ₹2,80,000 in prize money.
The Big Deal tournament on Spartan Poker ended in a deal between two well-known players, namely Mithun Mahesh aka ‘Zima Blue’ and Sumit Sapra aka ‘AAdicted.’ Mahesh took home ₹6,91,747 in prize money while Sapra cashed ₹6,28,642. The tournament had 153 entries in total. The top 15 players made it in the money. A min-cash of ₹55,080 was paid. The advertised guarantee of this event was crushed and the final prize pool stood at ₹30,60,000.
Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday tournament had 382 entries in total. The tournament was shipped by lawyer turned pro Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ who took home 4,03,965 in prize money. The runner up in this event was Umang Kakarania aka ‘Umang94’ who cashed ₹2,71,984. The advertised guarantee was surpassed and the final prize pool stood at ₹19,10,000. The top 31 players made it in the money. A min-cash of ₹16,808 was paid.
PokerStars Highroller tournament had 123 entries in total. The ₹7,700 buy-in event was a deal between well-known poker player Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘inaboobham’ and an anonymous player ‘Infic11.’ Mahboobani fired two bullets and took home ₹1,94,043. The anonymous player took home the same amount in prize money.
