Thi Truong Wins WSOP Event #77; ‘stamina22’ Leads Day 1P of $25M ME


Almost a week left for the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online to crown the ultimate champion. The $25 million GTD WSOP Event #77: $5,000 NLHE Main Event has concluded 16 starting flights out of 22. So far, the event garnered a total of 2,631 entries with only 474 survivors advancing to Day 2. Today, Canada’s Thi Truong came out on top in WSOP  Event #74: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha.

The 74th WSOP Event garnered a field of 973 entries and Thi ‘HoneyandTHI’ Truong powered through the field to grab the biggest chunk from $1.38 million prize pool. The champion defeated Italy’s Enrico Camosci in heads-up and collected his first bracelet, a ticket to WSOP Europe and $215,938 in prize money.

The top 134 players were assured a paycheck of $3,412 min-cash and notables like Brian England, Felipe Ramos, Alexander Fitasov, Rui Ferreira, Jesus Cortes all finished in the money. 

The final table consisted of players like Sean Winter, Frank Crivello, Kyle Bowker, Joao Simao, Dante Goya and so on. Heads-up got underway after the elimination of Brazil’s Goya. 

The final hand of the tournament saw Truong bet 120,000 on the {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop and Camosci made it 360,000 and shoved for a bit more.

  • Camosci: {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}
  • Truong: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}

Turn {8-Clubs} saw Truong picking up two pair. The river {2-Clubs} completed the board and Camosci went out in the second place giving the bracelet to Truong!

WSOP Event #77: $5,000 NLHE Main Event

On 27 August, Day 1P was played out and 239 entries registered to the field. After 15 levels of 30 minutes each only 44 of them progressed to Day 2. Bagging the largest stack of 994,190 was ‘stamina22’. Bracelet winners to book their seats to Day 2 were Jeremy ‘TheKid101’ Pekarek (532,977), Ravid ‘jerbi9999’ Garbi (390,180), Timur ‘Avocado Love’ Margolin (369,992), Chris Moorman (180,107). India’s Rahul ‘Hazard9’ Agarwal bagged 187,402 chips.

However, Day 1L chip leader Kahle Burns (1,387,282) still holds the overall chip lead.
