Tanmei Relwani triumphs BPT PLO for INR 5.80 Lakhs

The final day of the 2020 Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) saw three titleholders, standing tall after outlasting massive fields and tough competitors. Eventually, the seven-day prolonged tour halted with the final tournament, INR 20k PLO that featured INR 20 Lakhs GTD. And it was Tanmei Relwani who pounced through the last event to take home his career-best cash!

Pulling out a total of 95 hopefuls and it was level 14 which saw only 14 players left in the field. The prize pool was given away to the top 10 places and it was Vikram Kumar who the first one to rail out in the 11^th place, becoming the bubble boy of the tournament. Finally, Shashwat Mishra gave way to the final table after he settled in the 10^th place for INR 40,000.

It was Anmol Srivats who entered the final table with a massive chip stack of 790,000 followed by Relwani amassing 461,000 chips. However, the first casualty was the last edition’s PLO runner-up Ankit Jajodia who walked out in 9^th place. The chip leader was eliminated in fourth place for INR 2 Lakhs and eventually, the tournament reached heads-up. Jasven Saigal started with 11.40 million chips up against Relwani’s 12.60 million chips and it took 40 minutes before the players reached the final hand.

In the final hand, Relwani held Ks 5d 9d 4c up against Saigal with 9s 8d 8s Js and the flop 10h 3d 10d saw the latter bet while the former put his entire stack in the middle. The turn 9h and 7d on the river, Relwani drew a flush, dominating Saigal who headed towards the pay desk. Relwani took home the incredible prize money of INR 5.80 Lakhs and the BPT PLO title!

The champion doesn’t hold a long record of live flows of cash, he started off his career in 2019 DPT Bounty event where he finished 12^th and earning INR 81,565 in the 2019 WPT India Big Bounty Event in Panjim. “It feels great! This is my first trophy frankly, so it feels special!” Relwani expressed after his victory.
