SVS Day 4: Grover, Mishra, Rautela among title winners

The Spartan Super Series (SVS) kicked off a few days back with the idea of giving low and mid-stakes players the chance to strengthen their bankrolls between 18-25 August 2019 on Spartan Poker. Yesterday, another 5 SVS tournaments were hosted and you can get a complete summary of what went down on SVS Day 4 in this article…

SVS Event #16 INR 20k GTD

INR 110 was the buy-in to the first tournament yesterday and 251 entries registered to pass the guarantee and create a new prize pool of INR 25,100 which was then shared among the top 17 players with a min-cash of INR 394. It was a very long grind and when the tournament ended, the player to emerge as champion was Abhishek Grover aka ‘anaconda101’ who took away the top prize of INR 6,315 for his efforts. In heads-up, he beat Ashoo Chopra aka ‘DILATORY’, the latter having already won a title in this series on Day 1. Here, Chopra won INR 4,267 for finishing second.

SVS Event #17 INR 50k GTD

This tournament had a buy-in of INR 330 and by the end of the registration period, we had 145 entries which slightly missed the advertised guarantee of this tournament on Spartan Poker. The top places were paid out a min-cash of INR 1,025 which is more than triple the original investment. Another known name ended up on top of an SVS field as Induprakash Mishra won the title, playing as ‘supee’ on the platform. Queens and Eights in the final hand was enough to win this PLO event and bag the top prize of INR 13,125 after he beat ‘sannidhi’ in heads-up, who won INR 9,200 for his/her runner-up finish.

SVS Event #18 INR 35k GTD

With a buy-in of INR 165, we had another tournament which very narrowly missed the guarantee, with 199 entries registering to the field and eventually, only the top 15 of them were paid, with a min-cash of INR 630. This was the third consecutive PLO tournament of the day and here, it was ‘Ambu’ who emerged victorious and made a bankroll addition of INR 8,942 for this victory. In heads-up, the player defeated ‘ziggyluck’ who had to settle for INR 6,160 for the runner-up prize.

SVS Event #19 Prime Time INR 80k GTD

Yes, it was PLO again but this time, the buy-in rose to INR 440 as it was the prime time slot and here, 208 entries registered, beating the guarantee; the new prize pool was shared among the top 17 players, each taking away at least INR 1,306 for finishing in the money. Sanjay Rautela aka ‘jeffhardy’ was the biggest winner of the event, bagging the title along with the first-place prize of INR 20,933. This came after he got past ‘Pokerface63’ in heads-up, the latter having to be content with INR 14,144 for finishing second.

SVS Event #20 Hi-Fi – PLO Special INR 2 Lakh GTD

This PLO-only day ended with a PLO special edition of the daily Hi-Fi tournament on Spartan Poker. Being the most popular of Spartan’s daily tournament, it was no surprise to see a big field of 326 entries registering, taking the prize pool up more than 60% to INR 3.26 Lakh, which was then distributed among the top 31 players, with a min-cash of INR 2,868. It was ‘Lord_of_the_RINGS’ who took away the title and ended his night on a good note, earning INR 68,949 for the victory. Talking to Gutshot after the victory, the winner said, “I would like to mention one thing and it’s about the ambiance that Spartan gives its players, which is by far the best in the industry, both on mobile as well as laptop. Cheers!”
