Suresh Kolli slays tough field to win Sunday SuperStack

Sunday SuperStack INR 25 Lakh GTD is the biggest of the weekly featured tournaments on Spartan Poker in terms of the prize pool on offer. Considering most people have a holiday on Sunday, this is the ideal day to get both the pros as well as the recreational players to play, each paying the buy-in of INR 5,500 in this case.

Last night was another edition of the SuperStack which kicked off at 8pm and the grind turned out to be a very long and tiring one. Most of us were an hour or two away from our morning alarm when this tournament ended today morning at 5:41am after a grind of nearly 10 hours.

543 entries registered to the tournament and this took the prize pool up to INR 27.15 Lakh, which was eventually shared by the top 47 players with a min-cash of INR 15,475. However, the player to top the field and bag the biggest prize of the night was Suresh Kolli who plays by the name ‘oil_trader’ on Spartan Poker.

Late last year, Kolli won an Adda52 major as well, when he beat 401 entries to win a Godfather 6.0 tournament. Last night, his victory was slightly sweeter as he beat some top pros on his way to becoming richer by INR 5,28,153. This came after he beat ‘Spew ungar’ in heads-up, the runner-up taking away a decent cash prize of INR 3,36,117 too.

Some of the known faces to finish in the money last night were Rohit Mishra (46th), Zarvan Tumboli (44th), last night’s BSS SuperStack winner Kartik Ved (34th), recent WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (30th), Pulkit Goyal (21st), Siddhanth Kapoor (17th), Lakshpal Singh (5th), Yowan Patel (4th), and many others.
