Sunday Roundup: Sriharsha D wins Spartan Sunday SuperStack


What a fabulous start to the week it has been! Sunday was conquered by some of the biggest names in the poker industry and the new week has brought in with it the highest guarantee tournaments and the assured amount was smashed eventually. However, the Baazi Poker Tour Online (BPTO) on PokerBaazi was the biggest hit last day and here is the complete summary on Sunday majors…

Sunday saw Spartan Poker’s flagship tournament Sunday SuperStack INR 35 Lakhs GTD which attracted 676 players for a buy-in of INR 5,500. The competition continued till 5:47 am until the ultimate winner was announced. And it was none other than Sriharsha D aka ‘Fish2050’ who has been quite a star since the past week after triumphing Ultron on Thursday. Sriharsha grabbed the title and the first-place prize money after eliminating ‘Bluff.me.not’ in heads-up.

By now the country knows that Baazi Poker Tour Online (BPTO) is underway on PokerBaazi and Sunday was about two feature tournaments, one of them being the BPTO MegaStack INR 15 Lakhs GTD luring 401 players, each one of whom chipped in a buy-in of INR 3,850. It was a well-known figure in the online circuit Sreekanth Narayan aka ‘n0thing’ who defeated Shadul Parthasarathi aka ‘duuurrrr’ in heads-up to bag INR 3.15 Lakhs as winner’s prize money. However, the runner-up settled for INR 2.2 Lakh.

BPTO SuperStack INR 30 Lakhs on PokerBaazi proved to be a massive hit after the guaranteed amount was smashed to become INR 39 Lakhs. For a buy-in of INR 8,250 was paid by 527 entries but the star of the night was one of the leading figures in the country Nishant Sharma aka ‘Nishant177’ who defeated BPTO Megastack’s runner-up Shadul Parthasarathi aka ‘duuurrrr’ for INR 7.67 Lakhs. Eventually, Parthasarathi settled for INR 5.38 Lakh for the runner-up position.

Adda52’s flagship tournament Big Slick INR 15 Lakhs GTD is reserved for each Sunday and yesterday observed a huge field of 689 players entering for a buy-in of INR 2,500. It was an anonymous player ‘Drock’ who defeated Vaibhav Sharma aka ‘alienrobot’ in heads-up to add INR 2.7 Lakhs to his poker bankroll. Sharma settled for INR 2 Lakhs, resting in the runner-up position.

Mega Suits

Sunday is held in reserve for two major tournaments on Adda52 and the second one being Mega Suits INR 25 Lakhs. Registering 521 players for a buy-in of INR 5,500, eventually the guarantee was surpassed, generating a higher prize pool of INR 26 Lakhs, a slice of which was taken away by the top players. A prominent name in the virtual circuit Neel Joshi aka ‘neeljoshi23’ shipped the tournament for INR 5 Lakhs for railing out ‘thepokerfaceblr’ in heads-up who settled for INR 4.8 Lakhs.

Sunday Special Progressive KO

PokerStars hosted Sunday Special Progressive KO INR 15 Lakhs GTD, a bounty tournament at 5 pm yesterday. The competition reached 304 entries for a fixed buy-in of INR 5,500. Topping this field was a well-known circuit grinder Srihari Bang aka ‘bangbang1999’ who beat Nadeem Basha aka ‘Downtownplaya’. Bang boosted his bankroll by adding INR 1.42 along with the additional bounties, however, Basha settled for INR 1 Lakh for the runner-up position

Another big tournament hosted on PokerStars last night was Sunday Special INR 7.5 Lakhs GTD. A total number of 259 players entered for a buy-in of INR 2,750 and the prize pool was eventually divided into the top 47 places. However, battling his way to capture the title was Rachit Parihar aka ‘hack_R27’ who walked away with the lion’s share of the same after beating Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘inaboobham’ in heads-up for INR 1.36 Lakh.

The Dragon

The highest guarantee tournament on 9stacks was The Dragon INR 10 Lakhs GTD which saw a total number of 95 entrants who chipped INR 11,000 buy-in. Dominating this field was online crusher Anurag Srivastava aka ‘AnuragSrivastava’ who defeated Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ to capture the winner’s prize money of INR 2.9 Lakhs and Mall grabbed INR 2 Lakh for finishing in the second place.
