Sunday Roundup: Narayan triumphs Millionaire Lite


An unbelievably astonishing weekend with pro poker players of the country bagging titles across the major online platforms. Once again with cards and chips in the air, yesterday was a power-packed Sunday with some of the biggest tournaments, observing the leading contenders taking to their seats. Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire Lite INR 50 Lakhs GTD concluded with a massive hit! So, here’s the complete summary on Sunday majors…

The Millionaire Lite

Ever since Millionaire took to the calendars, the virtual felts have been lit with prominent players. Scheduled between 29 Nov to 1 Dec, The Millionaire Lite crowned the biggest champion, pouncing to take away a huge share of the prize pool was Sreekanth Narayan aka ‘n0thing’.

It was a smashing night on Spartan Poker! The tournament continued for 6 intense hours and several hopefuls returned on the final table, but it was Narayan who grabbed the massive prize money after defeating Vivek Rughani aka ‘Pokerbatman27’ in heads-up.

It was now the final hour in level 33, Narayan holding Ah As enters with a larger stack of 13 million up against Rughani with 11 million chips holding Kd Jd. The latter raises 375k in pre-flop only to see the former re-raising another 1.5 million. With Narayan having a stronger hand, bets 928k on flop Ac Ks 4c and got a call from his opponent. The turn and river 7d 4s respectively, Narayan puts his entire stack on the table and so does Rughani for his pair of Kings and Fours. And that’s when the competition ends, Narayan flips his full house AAA44 and rails out Rughani into the second position.

Sunday SuperStack

Sunday SuperStack INR 35 Lakhs GTD was also hosted on Spartan Poker at 8 pm sharp. A total number of 731 players entered for a buy-in of INR 5,500. The guarantee was surpassed, generating a bigger prize pool, a share of which was drawn by the top finishers. The competition continued till 5:12 am until the ultimate winner was announced. The leading face across live and online felts, Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘LuckyBhai$’ triumphed the Sunday night after defeating ‘Piko’ in heads-up.

The final hand got underway and Singh entered with 15 million chips holding 5c Jc against his opponent ‘Piko’ with 2 million chips holding 9s Qc. Pre-flop, the latter raises 180k and got a call from the former. Singh checks on flop Kc Js 7c while his opponent bets 184k, the former raises 600k and ‘Piko’ goes all-in. With 4h and 7s on the turn and river respectively, Singh shows his two pairs of Jacks and Sevens over the anonymous player’s single pair of Seven and ultimately walked out with an enormous sum of prize money.

Each player chipped in INR 5,500 buy-in to enter BSS SuperStack INR 25 Lakhs GTD reserved for each Sunday on PokerBaazi. The tournament began at 7 pm sharp, and the entire event saw a massive number of hopefuls battling their way to grab the top prize. Taking away the limelight was a well-known player across online felts Honey Bijlani aka ‘ho9ey’ for INR 5,38,650. Bijlani defeated ‘hero1965’ in heads-up pushing away to the runner-up position to bag INR 3,77,625.

Big Slick

Generally, Sundays are reserved for 2 major tournaments on Adda52, and one of them is Big Slick INR 15 Lakhs GTD which kicked off at 5 pm yesterday. 8+ hours into the competition saw a massive field with each player chipping in INR 2,500 buy-in. The last man standing was a prominent face in the online felts Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘ImHighIshove’ emerging victoriously. However, the tournament ended with a 2-way deal, with Mahboobani carrying the larger stack and pocketing INR 2,36,482 and the runner-up, another leading figure Kartik Ved aka ‘Pegasus1505’ settled for INR 2,31,499.

Sunday Special

Sunday on PokerStars are all about Sunday Special INR 20 Lakhs GTD, a bounty tournament which kicks off at 5 pm sharp. Each player chipped in INR 5,500 buy-in to enter the competition and eventually after long intense hours of grinding, the star of the night was Vivek Singh aka ‘Mystic Peaks’ pocketing INR 2.18 Lakhs. Singh defeated ‘mdp10s’ in heads-up sending the anonymous player to the runner-up position to bag INR 1.60 Lakhs.

The Joker

218 players entered last night’s The Joker INR 15 Lakhs GTD hosted by 9stacks. Outlasting the field was Raj Kumar Gahlot aka ‘Fireman’ beating ‘BigBetMix’ in heads-up for INR 3,67,500. While the runner-up settled for INR 2,47,500.
