Sunday Roundup: Lakhotia, Birewar, Kodam, Purohit ship events!


It was a terrific Sunday for the poker players across the country – right from India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) to Adda52 Online Poker Championship (AOPS) and PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) and so on. IOPC #25 The Millionaire United

The 3-day, multi-flight Event #25 The Millionaire United INR 1.5 Crore GTD on Spartan Poker was the first of many surprises in the ongoing IOPC festival in India. The starting flights garnered a massive field of 2,155 entries however, the final day saw only the top 255 players walking out with a min-cash. Racing ahead in the competition was Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ who took down the ultimate IOPC’s Millionaire tourney, earning a 7-digit score! In the second place was ’bluffpolice123’ who captured the runner-up payout.

IOPC #27 Big Daddy

Sunday feature IOPC #27 Big Daddy boasted INR 12 Lakhs GTD on Spartan Poker successfully creating INR 14.40 Lakhs prize pool. The event attracted a field of 720 entries and the top 63 players finished in the money. Adding the first-place prize money to his wallet was online reg Suraj Todi aka ‘soorajtodi’ who eliminated ‘Hellblazer’ in the runner-up position to seal the prestigious IOPC title! Arsh Grover aka ‘BigggTymeR’ finished in the 3rd place.

PMVS #24 Main Event SuperStack

The buy-in to PokerBaazi’s PMVS #24 INR 50 Lakhs GTD Main Event SuperStack was INR 5,500, fetching 1,018 entries. The event continued for almost 9+ hours until the last man grabbed INR 8.61 Lakhs paycheck. Coming out on top was Alok Birewar aka ‘TheProfessional’ who defeated Shagun Jain aka ‘sogani22’ in heads-up. Jain earned INR 6.03 Lakhs for finishing second. Rohit Mishra aka ‘rohit22rm’ followed next for INR 3.91 Lakhs.

PMVS #25 BSS Megastack

At 8 pm, another attraction on PokerBaazi was PMVS #25 BSS Megastack assuring INR 8 Lakhs. A total of 36 out of 320 entries locked INR 5.4K as min-cash. Boosting his bankroll with INR 1.77 Lakhs in prize money was Avneesh Munjal aka ‘iamam’ who mastered the field by ultimately eliminating his opponent ‘Dsa545’ in heads-up to add the PMVS title to his poker CV. However, the latter banked INR 1.24 Lakhs for the runner-up position.

AOPS Mega Suits

Sunday flagship tourney of Adda52, AOPS Mega Suits spotted 873 runners hoping to catch the first-place cash prize. Only the top 92 players could turn INR 5,500 buy-in to a min-cash. It was Anujkumar Kodam aka ‘thekinganuj’ to take down the event for INR 8.42 Lakhs, racing ahead a host of regs. Wilson Yomso aka ‘Kaling’ ended up in the runner-up position taking home INR 8.11 Lakhs. In the fourth place was Rajat Sharma aka ‘Oshoswami’ (INR 2.90L), ‘borntrouble’ finished 5th (1.89L), Neeraj Bajaj in 6th place (INR 1.30L) and so on.

AOPS Main Event Finale

After certain disruptions, the month long AOPS series eventually ended with AOPS ME Finale INR 3 Crore GTD on Adda52. It took 9 starting flights and several days after which ‘inveigle’ finished the tourney, walking out with the biggest payday! The top 291 players finished in the money, earning INR 32,000. The champion took down the prestigious tournament for a whopping INR 50 Lakhs in top prize after knocking out Ashish Garg aka ‘goodpoker86’ in heads-up. Garg earned a hefty INR 32 Lakhs for his efforts.

Sunday Highroller

PokerStars India’s signature Sunday tournament Sunday Highroller INR 15 Lakhs GTD clocked in 155 entries. The guarantee slightly surpassed creating INR 15.50 Lakhs in prize pool. Anant Purohit aka ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ shipped the event grabbing the largest slice and earning INR 3.13 Lakhs in prize money. Purohit defeated ‘ankitkaushal935’ in heads-up play who pocketed INR 2.36 Lakhs for runner-up position. The ‘First Lady’ of Indian poker Muskan Sethi aka ‘Muskan Sethi’ finished third for INR 1.77 Lakhs!
